                          importing into Ireland

If you are importing food into Europe it has to be suitable for human consumption and also comply with the EU law on importing food. If you are importing meat into Ireland you must be registered to an agency. When you are bringing food into Europe or any other country it has to go through border inspection. If the food does not pass the border inspection. They will take samples to be sent to scientists, when the results come back if the food if illegal most likely it will be destroyed and if it is legal they will be returned to the owner. The border inspection posts in Ireland are in Shannon Airport and Dublin Port. The food must be wrapped correctly and have a health mark on it.
